Pure Entertainment (Free) for you and your family
Today I thought i’d share something a bit more on the entertainment side as apposed to health related. Although I do feel this does fall into the “Mental Health” category. Its been such a peace-maker for me and my 2 year old that I had to share with you guys.
You already know I spend a lot of time at home with the boys, and anyone who has little nuggets knows how hard working from home can. My 2 year old is very curious about what I am doing on my laptop. The keys seem to fill some sort of satisfaction for him, and I have now found the solution for us moms!
In order to get any work done while he’s awake, I’ve set a compromise for every time I open up my laptop. He gets to spend 20 mins working (playing a game) and then mama gets to work. This has become something I actually look forward to when I am getting ready to do some work. I used to let him watch educational Youtube videos but he seems to like the more hands on approach as he gets older. I found this free website with thousands of games to choose from. Plays.org has every category of games to choose from, not only for the kids but for us adults as well.
Zay loves the show Blaze and the Monster Machines so naturally he gravitated to wanting to play the game online. Since he’s only 2 we are always looking for pre school level games to play and this site has an entire category for exactly that. This includes a Blaze and the Monster Machine game. With the majority of the games using the space bar and arrows its perfect for him! I even find myself playing a game or two. He loves the fact that it’s familiar to him and also interactive.
It’s lovely bonding time, educational, and pure entertainment for both of you! I have even found myself taking a break from work to play a game or two and elevate some tension or stress. I am more of a classics game type of person, give me sudoku or paceman and I’m in the zone.
Another favorite for Zay is this shapes and colors game which allows him to practice shapes, colors, and sizes.
Let me know in the comments if you have tried this site with your kids, and thank me later.
